All Silver for ABs

Tuesday 18th September 2007

When New Zealand take on Scotland on Saturday they will do so not as the All Blacks but the All Silvers, as Scotland will wear their traditional dark blue jerseys.

Scotland won 'home team' advantage before the tournament and therefore have choice of which shirts they will wear. They have, understandably, opted for their usual home kit, forcing New Zealand to don their change jerseys.

Despite the prospect of taking to the field without the famous all black kit the players are not fazed.

"We're still playing for New Zealand and running out with the same guys. I guess it won't make a difference, but we'll see," said second row Chris Jack to IRB.

And he was not the only one with this view, prop Tony Woodcock agreed.

"It's still got the silver fern on, that's the main part," he said.

The lack of an all black kit will not be as big of a worry as the return to fitness and form of Scotland captain Jason White, according to Rodney So'oialo.

"I think he will definitely add something to the Scotland team, but the boys are ready to combat whoever they have," he said.

"We work as a team, that is why New Zealand is successful. We work as a team and that is how you beat individuals."
